WW1 era Scottish Basket Hilt Sword. 32 inch nickle silver blade with 2 grooves to each side, with the etching being 13 1/2″ in length. Proof marked blade above the hilt. Blade is etched with a King’s Crown above cypher to one side of the blade, and King’s Crown above a shield to the other side. The blade is in excellent condition with 100% of the original finish remaining, with only very light scratching being visible to the end of the blade. The basket hilt also retains 100% of the original finish, with the inner material being original to the sword and in very good condition. The red material with blue border shows slight fraying to the edges, with 2 small moth nips being visible to the exterior of the material. The tassel also appears to be original to the sword, and also in excellent condition with no damage or fraying. The wire wrapped shark skin grips are very good on condition, showing only slight wear with no damage, and tight wire wrapping. The metal scabbard also retains 100% of the original finish being very bright and clean. All in excellent condition and being one of the best we have seen.
