Original Colt Model 1862 Pocket Police, .36 Percussion cal. single action revolver. Serial number shows a production date of early 1863. Fluted cylinder with single line Colt address to the top of the round barrel. Colt patent marks to the sides of the action and to one of the flutes of the cylinder. Matching serial numbers throughout with no damage to any of the screw heads. The 2 piece walnut grips are in excellent condition showing 90% of the original finish and color. Nickle plating to the back strap is 90% with approx. 70% case color hardening remaining to the sides of the action with some darkening and mottling being present. Extractor is in excellent condition, and locks correctly and shows 90% of the original case color hardening finish. Cylinder retains 70% of the original blued finish, turning grey, with the barrel also having approx 70% of the blued finish remaining, turning grey in areas from age, and wear to the top of the barrel from a holster, which has protected the gun over time. The pistol cycles and indexes correctly, functioning properly and locking correctly with a very good bore. Very good condition overall and in higher condition than normally seen.
