MacFarland 8 gauge percussion side by side shotgun, manufactured circa 1860. Thick walled damascus barrels measuring 36 inches in length with a single bead. Two large thimbles beneath the barrels secure the brass tipped ramrod in place, with a worm to the one end. The 3x grained straight grip walnut checked stock with smooth fore end is secured by a single barrel key, with the butt measuring 6 inches in height, with a thickness of 2 inches. Matching hammers, with the side plates showing the name “MacFarland”, all being mostly silvered from age, showing approx. 15% of the original case color hardening. Barrels are London maker marked to the rib, with English proof marks to the barrels table, along with the choke boring marks. The barrels are very solid, with no damage, ringing true, with clean bores throughout. Stock shows sharp checkering with 99% of the high luster finish to the wood remaining. Action functions correctly, with strong springs, clean nipples, and positive ignition. (As this gun has been recently test fired with black powder). Approx. weight of 26 lbs. Very good condition overall.

Antique. No PAL Required.
