WW1 Military Medal, 18th Western Ontario Regiment

WW1 Military Medal named to “775177, Pte. C.Sullivan, 18 W. Ont. R.” (18th, Western Ontario Regiment). Correct naming. Original un-touched condition complete with original issue ribbon. Christopher Sullivan attestated in Toronto, December 6, 1915 at the age of 20 years and 1 month.He is listed in the Edinburgh Gazette, January 27, 1919, Page 534, issue 13393. His burial information shows The Vimy Memorial, Pas de Calais, France, with no grave reference. He was killed in action August 27th at the age of 22 years, and was previously wounded at Vimy Ridge, He was awarded the Military Medal for capturing a German dugout, as reported by the Toronto Star, September 21, 1918.

Canadian General Service Medal With 1866 Fenian Raid Bar, named to Pte. G. Lauzon, 4th Chasseurs.  Name appears on the published roll. With original ribbon.

The Canadian Chasseurs (Chasseurs Canadiens), a Volunteer Militia unit, was raised in November 1861 by Judge Michel Coursol, a leading Montreal jurist who led them against the Fenian Raids of 1866 by Irish Republicans based in the U.S.A., many of them former Union soldiers in the American Civil War.
