Top of the lock is manufacture stamped B.S.A. Co. (British Small Arms Company) and also stamped II* with proof marks to the side of the of the barrel. Brass trigger guard and butt place that is stamped 54 for the 54th Regiment, Carabiniers De Sherbrooke above the rack number, 156. The back center of the stock on the right side is impressed with a Roundel, with the opposite side having the D.C. in a diamond for Canadian use. The rifle shows a large amount of the original finish to the metal parts, with one, 1 1\/2 inch area of light corrosion to the barrel. Wood shows expected handling marks but also retains a large amount of the original color and finish, with the brass having a nice even aged patina finish. The rifle is complete with the steel cleaning rod in place. The action functions correctly with a tight lock up and strong rifling to the bore with some darkness and small areas of corrosion.
