They are fitted with small convex clear glass lenses (type D) designed to provide some protection from flying shrapnel debris. The strap is manufactured using a ribbed grey-green silken headband of the type normally associated with the second pattern. The googles come in the original cannister that is nicely marked 'Flieger-Splitterschutzbrille mit Ultrasin-Gläsern \"A\" FL Nr.30550. Cannister is complete with the inner cardboard protective tube.
