There is a thick, padded interlining and the interior is lined in a golden coloured rayon cotton mix material. The front of the suit fastens with a high quality, double ended 'D.O.T.' branded zipper which features a locking device to the top puller. The zip runs at an angle and features a fly behind it which is secured with a press stud at the top. Both legs also feature zip openings which have the same style of zips as used for the front. Knitted cuffs are fitted to the end of each leg and knitted cuffs are concealed inside each sleeve. Hand warmer slash pockets are located to the front of the coveralls and there is a hood which is lined in an oatmeal coloured wool. This features a drawstring around the mouth and there is a tightening strap to the rear. There is also an internal wool collar which can be fastened with two buttons. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe interior of the suit features suspender braces which are heavy duty and can be unfastened using press studs. Manufactures label in place, \"Canadian Navy Protective Suit, S.S. Holden Ltd., Ottawa And Hull\", and dated 1944. The label to the nick area is also in place, showing \"S.S. Holden Ltd., Ottawa And Hull\" with the size showing as Large. In very good condition showing only minor wear and use.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis pattern of suit was produced during WW2 for members of the RCN serving in extreme cold temperatures. They are associated with submariner's but also saw issue with other naval personnel. It is designed as an all-in-one coverall which could be easily put on over the top of a uniform. It was intended to be used out on deck and was designed for maximum warmth. A very rare WW2 item that is not often encountered.
