Antique Pre-1898 A.J. Blattmann Swiss Schutzen Deluxe Target Rifle

Antique, single shot Swiss Schutzen Deluxe Target Rifle chambered in 10.4 Swiss Centerfire. Single shot, falling block, Martini style action that is maker marked to the left side, A.J. Blattmann, Waeenswvl, Switzerland. 33 inch, part octagon, and part round with flutes barrel and Schutzen style finger grooved lever and adjustable double set triggers. Schutzen butt plate with a deluxe European walnut check piece stock and fore end having a carved front, and secured by a single barrel key. Open adjustable sights, with a silver initial plate inset into the right side of the stock, and both sling swivels in place as is he leather sling. This rifle is in very high condition. with the action retaining most of the original case color hardened finish, as is the lever, which shows some wear the case coloring from handling. Barrel is with 99% of the original deep blued finish, and the stock and for end having the flamed walnut grained wood with original color and bright finish with some handling marks being present. Action and triggers function perfectly and mechanically perfect. The Schutzen target steel hooked butt plate is also case color hardened being deep and rich in color and showing some loss from wear as to be expected. Bore is with deep and clean rifling that shows some wear from use. The rifle measures 51 inches in total length and weighs in at 11.5 pounds. A fine, quality Swiss target rifle in very high condition, and not often encountered. SKU: 61661
