Pre-WW1 Antique Pre-WW1 German Mauser Model 1871 Service Rifle -14th Reserve Regiment

Bolt action, single shot infantry rifle chambered in 43 Mauser caliber with a 33 1/2 inch round barrel and one piece wood stock secured by 2 steel barrel bands and a brass trigger guard. Model marked to the left side of the action and dated 1874 to the opposite side. Numerous stampings to the 4 inch octagon portion of the barrel and regimentally marked to the top of the steel butt plate, "14 R.R.E.  4.102" for the 14th Reserve Regiment. Non-matching number bolt with the bore showing wear and some rifling being visible. Both sling swivels in place but missing the steel cleaning rod. Shows expected use and wear with finish loss and handling marks. Metal a blue/grey turning brown with finish loss and the action having turned brown. Wood shows a repair to the left side of the action and with handling marks. SKU: 61516
