Pre-WW1 Antique Presentation Engraved Named Plant Manufacturing Front Loading Army Revolver
Manufactured mid-1860's , six shot, single action spur trigger revolver for the 42 caliber front loading cup-primed cartridge. Measuring 10 1/2 inches overall with a 6 inch octagon barrel with a raised solid top rib that is marked "Merwin And Bray" who were agents and financers for the Plant Manufacturing Company. Nickle plated finish with 98% remaining and scroll engraved to the frame, front sides of the barrel, top of action, back strap, and butt before the serial number. Extractor to the right side of the action behind the engraved cylinder that is marked with the patent dates for the pistol. Special order checkered and deluxe bone grips. Scroll engraving to the back strap around the presentation naming of who the gun was presented to. Action is mechanically excellent with a strong spring and functioning correctly. The gun is in very high condition showing only extremely light wear. Very few Plant revolvers were made with engraving or by special order with engraving and deluxe features making this a very rare and unique sidearm. SKU: 60581
