One-piece construction wartime M1915 Prussian stamped metal box belt buckle, factory painted field grey with a raised front. To the reverse is its raised buckle catch, and a metal prong bar with dual prongs that is attached to the issue adjustable length leather belt that measures 34 inches over all with the metal buckle catch in place. To the back center of the belt, punched and stitched is "AMIENS", the place of capture by a Canadian soldier.
The battle of Amiens took place on August 8 -11, 1918, and is known as the beginning of the "hundred days", a string of allied offences that led to the collapse of the German Army and the end of the war. SKU: 62000
