WW2 German Deactivated Sauer Model 38H Service Pistol With Marked Holster
WW2 German Deactivated Sauer Model 38H Service Pistol With Marked Holster
The Sauer 38H was made from 1938 to 1945 by J.P. Sauer & Sohn. The German designation for this handgun was Sauer Pistole Modell 38 Hahn Selbstspannung (Sauer Pistol Model 38 Hammer Self-Cocking). The "H" in the model number indicates this pistol uses a shrouded hammer as opposed to striker style firing of earlier Sauer models. The Sauer 38H was used by German armed forces such as the Luftwaffe and was a favorite of the Fallschirmjäger. Patent marked to the right side of the frame with a single Waffen Amt stamp above the serial number, and marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL, Cal. 7.65 to the left side of the frame with a single Waffen Amt stamp to the front of the trigger guard. Two piece, hard rubber checkered grip panels with the Sauer logo to the lower portion. Matching and marked magazine in place. Shows war time use and wear but still retains almost all of the original finish. Complete with the issue black leather holster with a single flap closure and leather strap to a white metal tab. Holster is clearly maker stamped "OTTO SINDEL, BERLIN" and dated 1942 with a large, single Waffen Amt stamp above. In excellent condition, showing very little wear, as does the pistol. Current spec deactivation with no moving parts, and the magazine being non-removeable. SKU: 60176
