Framed WW1 Canadian United Empire Certificate 50th Battalion / 1st CMR

Framed certificate printed in color with photograph. Measuring 13 1/2 by 19 inches in a wooden backed, glass front whicker frame. Named to the front to Pte. R.Gilchrist, No.5 COY., 1st Depot Batt., Enlisted Calgary, Alberta. With research attached to the reverse, Robert Boyd Gilchrist, service number 11157, pre-WW1 service Argyle and Brite, R.G.A. Enlisted Aug. 24, 1915 with the 50th Battalion. Transferred to the 1st Canadian /mounted Rifles (Saskatchewan Regiment) and died in battle on Aug.1, 1917. Buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany. Grave Ref. XV B 54.
