Omega hunter cased gold filled (plated) railroad grade pocket watch with a white porcelain dial showing hours, minutes, and seconds. Hunter cased with a hinged opening to the face, as well as to the reverse, and when opened, shows the engraving to back of the case. The hinged door to the reverse shows the engraved initials, with the engraved presentation to the back plate, reading, 'For Duty Nobly Done Overseas, Great War 1914-1919, Pte. J.T.Everitt, From Kincardine Town. (Kincardine is a municipality located on the shores of Lake Huron in Bruce County) Government records show that he attestated on January 8th, 1916 at the age of 18 years with the 160th Battalion (Walkerton, Ontario) later serving with the 18th Battalion (London, Ontario) overseas in France where he received a bullet wound to the right shoulder. He discharged January 29, 1919 at the Number 1 District Depot, and was awarded the watch by the Mayor of Kincardine Ontario as a gift from the people of the town. Although not presently running, the watch has been checked and is complete with no damage and may require only something simple as a cleaning. A very rare and one-of-a-kind Canadian military item with strong WW1 history.
