Named and Battalion marked Korean War Era Fairbairn Sykes 3rd Pattern fighting Knife, measuring 11 3/4 inches overall with a 6 3/4 inch double edged steel blade. Cast, grooved, bopper handle that is stamped with the number 1 t the top, for mold number 1. Dome shaped top nut, with a steel cross guard, period applied name stamped to the one side, H. WAKE, and stamped PPCLI to the opposite side. Marking to the top of the cross guard have been ground off at some time in history. Blade is sharp and clean, with traces of the black finish remaining. In a replacement scabbard. Harold Wake served overseas in the Korean War with the PPCLI, and upon to return to Canada, served with the Calgary Police and later became a flight instructor, then retiring. SKU: 63158
