Pre-WW1 U.S. Antique Whitney First Model 2nd Type Percussion Revolver

Single action, 36 caliber percussion 6 shot revolver with a 7 1/2 inch octagon barrel, stamped to the top flat ahead of the cylinder, E. WHITNEY /N. HAVEN, and with 2 piece walnut grips and a brass trigger guard. 4 digit serial number marked under the loading leaver. Machined cylinder with 6 safety notches to the back, and without any cylinder scene. Metal finish is grey with some brown finish to the barrel, and some spotting and handling marks being present. Markings to the top of the barrel are present but faint from wear. The brass trigger guard has a nicely aged finish, with the grip panels also having handling marks as to be expected but with nice grain, and with the original finish. Leading lever functions correctly, locking tightly, with the action being mechanically excellent with a tight lock up and only very minor cylinder movement in the cocked position.  Some cleaning marks present to the backstrap.
