Regimentally Marked Pre-WW1 Lee Metford Service Rifle Bayonet

Measuring 16 3/4 inches in total length with a 12 inch double edged spear pointed blade that is proof marked and War Department marked to one side, and is date stamped 5 '96 (May 1896) below a Victorian Crown to the opposite side. Battalion marked to the cross guard to the one side. Bayonet is complete with the issue leather and metal fixtured scabbard and the regimentally marked white buff leather scabbard, marked to the same regiment as the cross guard. 2 piece wood grip panels and working release button in place.
