WW! British medal set comprising of the Victory Medal, British War Medal, 1914 Star with 1914 Bar, all correctly named to 19324 L.CPL. W.B. DALLYN. R.E. (Royal Engineers) along with the Special Constabulary Faithful Service Medal with ribbon bar with the medal correctly named to WILLIAM H. DALLYN. The medals are also accompanied with a donation medal with hanger from the Grovehouse Orphanage, named to the back and presented to William Dallyn for being a donor to the orphanage, There is also a Devon Special Constabulary button hole badge, measuring 1.25 inches in diameter, having colored enamel on brass to the facing, and maker marked to the reverse, J.R. Gaunt London. With this, is also a Certificate Of Membership to the Royal Antediluvian Grand Lodge Of London, dated 1925.
As a child, William Dallyn was a resident of the Grovehouse Orphanage and was adopted. He never married and entered into WW1 serving with the Royal Engineers, and receiving the Victory Medal, BWM, and Mons Star. After his military service, he became a member of the Constabulary Officer, receiving the long service medal. During his service time in The Constabulary, he made regular donations to the Grovehouse Orphanage and received a donation medal for his efforts. SKU: 60419
