WW1 Canadian CEF MSM Meritorious Medal Set 78th and 5th Battalion
WW1 Canadian CEF medal set comprising of the MSM, Meritorious Service Medal, Victory Medal and BWM (British War Medal) all correctly named to 148005 SGT. G.A. Fairbairn 5th CAN. INF., with all 3 having the original ribbons in place. They are also accompanied with the ribbon bar, WW1 I.D. Identification tag, and a colored enamel on sterling silver sweetheart badge with a pin back fastener and sterling silver proof marks to the reverse. Also with a copy of a portion of the service records from the Government LAC site, a copy of his obituary, and a photocopy of a WW1 photo showing him in uniform. SKU: 62241
George Alfred Fairbairn from Nepawa, Manitoba enlisted with the 78th Battalion (Winnipeg Grenadiers) on July 30, 1915 and later transferred to the 5th Battalion (Western Canadian Cavalry) serving overseas in France. He was wounded overseas on November 11, 1917 and was awarded the MSM for exemplary service.
