The instrument consists of a brass frame containing a highly sensitive cylindrical screw, graduated to minutes of a degree. The cylindrical screw is turned up until the spirit level indicates horizontal. Marked 'Clinometer Large, E.R. Watts & Son, London, 1941, No.955'. Mahogany case with brass hinges lid and 2 metal hasp closures, marked 'Ritkin, London No.20' to the top right corner of the lid. Case shows use and wear with the instrument being bright and clean. Weighs 4.5 Kgs.
