Pre-WW1 Antique M1869 Swiss Vetterli Schutzen Target Service Rifle

Antique bolt action, tube fed, repeating rifle chambered for eh 41 Cal. Swill Rimfire Cartridge. Measuring 51 inches overall with a 31 inch round barrel with graduated sight to 1200 meters. Deluxe wood with deluxe checkering to the stock and full length fore end. Double set adjustable triggers and a Swiss Schutzen butt plate. Complete with the original Moroccan leather adjustable sling. Manufacbacture marked to the left side of the action, J. Blattmann, Wadenswyl with a single proof mark to the top of the rear of the bolt and the manufactures initials to the front of the proof mark. The fore wood is secured with a single barrel band and blued steel nose cap, with a single barrel key in place below the rear sight. Silver initial plate inlaid into the left side of the stock behind the action.

The rifle is in excellent original condition retaining all of the original blued finish and the trigger guard and butt plate having all of the original case hardened finish. Bore is excellent showing only minor use and the issue steel cleaning rod being present. The wood has all of the original color and varnish, being bright and clean with some very minor handling marks being present. The rifle is in almost as new condition showing very little use in a rare configuration as a Shutzen target rifle. SKU: 60432
