Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1888 Lee Medford Bayonet - Regimentally Marked

Measuring 16 3/4 inches overall with a 12 inch double edged blade that is proof marked and War Department marked to one side, and manufacture marked to the other and dated 8-96 (August 1896) with a Victorian Crown. 2 piece wood grip panels with brass retaining pins and also proof mark stamped to the center of each panel. Regimentally marked 12 over 398 to the pommel opposite of the working release button. No scabbard present.
