Originally chamber for the 8mm Mauser cartridge, belt fed with water jacket and original issue bipod in place. Feed block and bolt removed as part of the deactivation process with the back part of the action still being in place. The left side of the barrel jacket shows a period bullet hole, and 2 cracks are present to the stock. The action top cover is marked "121 MG 08/15 GwL Spandau 1917". As shown in the book "Reports of the War Trophies 1920" a handwritten account of WW1 Canadian captured arms, shows the serial number to the top action plate, 121, as being allotted to the Pembrook Armories, Ontario.
