M38 pattern rubber gas mask complete with all straps with one having a hand written period applied naming, and the other a hand written period applied service number. Mask is marked to the interior of the left lens and also to the center of the interior of the mask. 1940 date mark to the metal nozzle that connects to the filter. The FE 41 filter shows clear markings and also dated 1940 with a waffen amt ink stamp. Approx. 90% of the original field green paint is present to the mask and cannister. Housed in the second pattern M38 corrugated magnetic sheet metal construction canister with hinged lid and interior compartment with the extra lens package being present. Canister retains most of its original field grey paint with some rusting to the finish and showing the expected war time use. SKU: 60372
