Named WW1 Canadian CEF Uniform Grouping - Pte. W.W. Brown 2nd.Co. 1st CMGB Canadian Machine Gun Battalion

WW1 Canadian CEF Uniform grouping named and belonging to 725177 Pte. Wilford W. Brown, 2nd Company, 1st Canadian Machine Gun Battalion, Signals Section,  comprising of the WW1 5 button, 4 pocket front Canadian Tunic with faint period applied naming the interior, and with all buttons in place. Stand up double hook closure collar with a matching pair of brass collars in place. Cloth division patches to both upper sleeves with an enamel on brass Signals trade badge to the one lower sleeve, and an embroidered on cloth 3 year service chevron to the opposite sleeve. Matching pair of brass CANADA shoulder titles in place to each epaulette. His soft trench cap present with the brass Canadian Machine Gun Corps badge in place to the front, and 2 small brass British side buttons securing the leather chin strap. The cap is Broadarrow marked to the interior. The uniform and cap is also with a set of 3 medals being the Victory Medal and BWM (British War Medal) both correctly named to 725177 PTE. W.W. BROWN 3-CAN. INF. along with a CEF Victoria's County Welcome To returned Soldiers Medal. Along with this is his Force Service At The Front Pin, numbered to the reverse with the Certificate Issued With War Service Badge and his colored enamel on brass CMGC button hole pin. His original linen Discharge Paper is present showing that he served overseas in France with the 1st Cdn. M.G. Battalion, and having enlisted in the 109th Battalion, and was discharged on April 24, 1919. A small green holder containing 6 period black and white photographs present, with him being presumed to be in the photos. A framed Buckingham Palace letter wishing him a safe return home, along with his named  "Soldiers Own Diary" and his personal pocket diary with many period entered hand applied entries talking about his time on his way to the front, and overseas. With this is also a framed period black and white glass front photo measuring 12 by 10 inches of the Signalers School printed in Folkstone England. Private Brown is identified in this photo and positioned 4th from the right, second row from the back. The set is accompanied with copied from the LAC website file along with personal research, and also research describing, verifying, and proving the tunic. SKU: 61421
