Pre-WW1 British P1888 Lee Medford Bayonet RIC Royal Irish Constabulary

Measuring 16 3/4 overall with 12 inch double edged blade that is maker marked Sanderson Sheffield with the date mark 8-96 (August 1896) to one side of the blade WD (War Department) with a British Broadarrow and proof marked to the opposite side. Proof marked to the spine and also marked RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) to the spine between the 2 wooden grip panels. Working release button in place. Blade shows spotting with some surface pitting present. No Scabbard in place.
