Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1903 Bayonet And Scabbard

The British P1903 design combined the P1888 blade an cross guard with a new pommel design. Many P1888 Lee-Metford bayonets were converted to the 1903 Pattern. This model had a short service life as the blade was considered to be not long enough , having less reach with a shorter rifle. The P1903 was produced for British use from 1903 to 1907 , at which time the P1907 was adopted.

Measuring 16 1/2 inches in total length with a 12 inch double edged blade stamped 1903 below the King's Crown and dated 3-03 (March 1903), with British proof marks and Broadarrow to the opposite side. 2 piece wood grip panels secured by 2 locking bolts, and functioning release button in place.
