WW1 British Officer's Field Compass In Carrier With Service Number

Blackened brass field compass with hinged lid and sight glass in place. Marked to the reverse, Short & Mason Ltd., London, and dated 1916 along with a serial number. Housed in the brown leather carrier with a single leather strap closure to a brass roller buckle. Case is maker marked and dated 1918 wit ha British Broadarrow. Case also has a handwritten, period applied service number, "49836". No fluid present to the interior of the compass. SKU: 60119
