WW1 Canadian Captured Fokker D.VII Front Side Panel, measuring 28 1/4 by 9 inches, constructed of metal with a section of the leather covered, padded arm rest in place. Marked to the side, FOK D7 OAW and with the number 8493 below. The panel is in a light and dark grey panel as repainted at the end of WW1 by the Canadian Air Force. A booklet, measuring 9 3/4 by 11 1/2 accompanies the item, containing photos, information, and research. The booklet shows some of the following information..."Late model OAW (East Albartos Works) Fokker D. VII 8493/18 photographed with Andrew McKeever and a Canadian Maple Leaf insignia Post War. These were among a batch that went from the Air Depot in Germany where they were stored for transport to front line air parks. But after the war's end they were sent to Canada (in early 1919)". Another research letter also states "The aircraft was manufactured by the OAW, Ost-Deutsch Albartos Werke and the aircraft was serial number 8493, one in the last batch of 350 aircraft that AOW built (8300-8649). Parts of this plane are also in existence, with the engine reported to be in Holland. A truly remarkable and rare museum piece. SKU: D63605
