Alexander Burgess from Toronto attestated on July 29, 1915 with the 14th Battalion, Royal Montreal Regiment, and was later transferred to the 36th Battalion, Hamilton, Ontario and served overseas in England and France, where he received a gun shot wound to the left leg on June 3, 1916, and was discharged on December 24, 1918.
