WW2 British RAF Royal Air Force Type D 2nd Pattern Summer Flight Helmet

The helmet is made from a cotton drill material and is lined with an off-white satin. The pattern closely follows the second pattern C-type helmet with rubber earcups, internal wiring and elasticated chin strap. The helmet is well marked to the interior. A neck flap is also present to keep the sun of the wearers neck. The helmet is complete with the electronics and marked plug. 2 manila tags are attached, with one giving a hand written description and hand written naming to the opposite side, The 2nd tag, also shows a hand written description. and dated September 15, 1943, with the opposite side being a tag from the 26th Air Depot Group Deversoir Egypt, and typed, Dest.
