WW2 German 1st Class Cased War Merit Cross With Swords

Die struck, alloy construction bravery award with a nickel/silver plated finish. Wide pinback fastener to the reverse, numbered "84", for maker Poellath. The award is housed in a  simulated grained leather covering case that measures 2 3/4 by 2 3/4 inches with a push button release. The case is maker marked to the interior, Kerbach & Oesterheit, Dresden A1. The back of the cross also shows a scratching in naming, presumably that of the soldier it was awards to. Medal shows a tarnished finish with the case being excellent. SKU: 62665
