WW2 United States FSSF Case V-42 Commando Dagger

Measuring 12 3/16 inches in total length (from tip of blade to the top point of the pommel "skull cracker" with a 6 13/16 inch blues finish, stiletto style blade coming to a sharp point. Maker marked to the one side "CASE" with the inset oval, grooved "thumb print". The straight steel cross guard with rounded ends has the leather covering to the one side of the shaped and stacked black leather washer grip. The round steel pommel is with an incorporated round cap that has the cylindrical, steel pointed "skull cracker". The knife is in very good condition, having a large portion of approx. 70% of the original blued finish to the blade, untouched, sharp edges, and a shape tip that is without damage. Some expected finish loss at the end of the blade with some very minor scratching. The knife is with it's issue, full length leather scabbard measuring 19 3/4 inches in total length. Folder over at the top, and held in place by 2 white metal rivets and stitching to form a wide belt loop. Leather retaining strap with a black finished brass snap closure that fits around the handle of the knife to keep is secure. All 8 of the metal "teeth" are in place to the opening that holds the blade in place. A rare WW2 item in all original condition.
