WW2 United States U.S. Imperial M3 Fighting Knife In M8 Scabbard

An WWII American Imperial M3 Fighting Knife - As carried by American Paratroopers during the Second World War. Measuring 11 3/8 inches overall with a 6 1/2 inch, magnetic steel blade, stamped to the one side, U.S. M3 IMPERIAL". The blade sits securely within a magnetic metal upper cross guard, which is curved along the top. Stacked brown leather and grooved grip with a steel magnetic pommel that is marked with the Flaming Bomb. Period, hand applied initials to one side of the grip at the cross guard, "L.T." Housed in an unmarked M8 fiberglass and metal scabbard with a webbed material frog with belt loop and securing strap in place. The knife is in very good condition, with the blade showing use and some slight sharpening marks. Leather grip has a nicely worn, smooth finish, with the scabbard being in very good condition showing light wear. SKU: 63470
